Has a nice ring to it don’t you think? Music lovers are aware of how difficult it is to fully capture the raw emotions they feel when listening to classics like Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” or contemporary hits like The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face”. These songs arouse emotions like pain, love and joy that help the listener to empathise and connect with the artist through the music. These emotions are Soundgasms.

I coined the term when I was jamming to one of my favourite albums of all time, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West. The raw emotions and satisfaction I felt in the moment from listening to such an amazing music was unexplainable in normal words, hence the name Soundgasms. Soundgasms is an emotion. It’s the response/reaction you make from listening to good music. Simply put, if the music moves you, it’s soundgasmic.

This blog is all about bringing to you the newest and best sounds from young artists around Nigeria. Soundgasms provides a platform for talented Nigerian music to showcase their music to the world. As a young artist, it was becoming increasingly hard to push out my music beyond the borders of my influence. I decided that for my music, as well as those of other young artists, to be given the appreciation they deserve, a platform was needed to solely shine the light on our music.
